As part of the Nemetschek Group, ALLPLAN offers Building Information Modeling (BIM) solutions that elevate digital construction practices. Globally, over 240,000 professionals rely on ALLPLAN for specialist knowledge across the entire \u201cDesign to Build\u201d lifecycle\u2014from initial concept to final delivery.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"349\" data-end=\"806\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Powering Global Learning: How ALLPLAN Scaled with Totara Learn &amp; Engage\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xT1GK1Nd4i8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"808\" data-end=\"1222\"><strong data-start=\"808\" data-end=\"825\">The Challenge<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"808\" data-end=\"1222\">ALLPLAN set out to create a modern, interactive, and multilingual learning platform\u2014<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/learnnow.allplan.com\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"912\" data-end=\"961\">ALLPLAN Learn Now<\/a>\u2014designed to serve a diverse audience of customers, prospects, and students. The goal was to empower learners with the skills to use ALLPLAN software effectively by offering how-to content and interactive courses aligned with the full \u201cDesign to Build\u201d process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1224\" data-end=\"1359\">As a global company, ALLPLAN needed a platform that could deliver region-specific content tailored to local languages and requirements.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1361\" data-end=\"1640\">A key challenge was the desire to embed learning activities with rich, context-relevant resources\u2014such as knowledge articles, tutorial videos, recorded webinars, and technical documentation\u2014making it easier for learners to find the answers they need, exactly when they need them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1642\" data-end=\"1949\">Additionally, integration with internal systems such as Salesforce and Connect was critical to streamline administration, automate workflows, and minimize maintenance demands. Given the platform&#8217;s complexity and reach, clear ownership and responsibilities for platform management also had to be established.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1951\" data-end=\"2151\">Finally, ALLPLAN needed tiered access rights to support an upselling strategy. By offering free trial access to some content, they aimed to engage new users and generate interest in premium offerings.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2153\" data-end=\"2486\"><strong data-start=\"2153\" data-end=\"2169\">The Solution<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2153\" data-end=\"2486\">Totara proved to be the ideal solution, offering a flexible learning platform that supports both structured and social learning through <strong data-start=\"2308\" data-end=\"2324\">Totara Learn<\/strong>. With integrated language packs, multi-tenancy, and granular audience targeting, Totara met ALLPLAN\u2019s global and multilingual requirements.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2488\" data-end=\"2767\">The platform was developed in close collaboration with ALLPLAN over several expansion phases. A cross-functional team\u2014including experts in content development, marketing, instructional design, UX, and technical implementation\u2014helped deliver a holistic, learner-centered platform.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2769\" data-end=\"3056\"><strong data-start=\"2769\" data-end=\"2783\">Phase One:<\/strong><br data-start=\"2783\" data-end=\"2786\" \/>We launched a fully integrated platform connected to ALLPLAN\u2019s Connect customer master data system. With single sign-on and data synchronization, customer attributes like subscription level could be used to control access to specific content\u2014enabling targeted upselling.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3058\" data-end=\"3199\">Both guests and registered users could explore selected courses and resources, with the option to upgrade for full access to premium content.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3058\" data-end=\"3199\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-66661 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.totara.fortyapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ap-start-page.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"608\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.totara.fortyapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ap-start-page.png 608w, https:\/\/staging.totara.fortyapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ap-start-page-228x300.png 228w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 608px) 100vw, 608px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3201\" data-end=\"3478\"><strong data-start=\"3201\" data-end=\"3215\">Phase Two:<\/strong><br data-start=\"3215\" data-end=\"3218\" \/>We enhanced the integration of Totara Engage within Totara Learn to make content discovery more intuitive and connected to the ALLPLAN product ecosystem. Engage resources were developed as reusable learning objects embedded directly in courses. This required harmonizing processes, aligning governance across countries, and coordinating updates centrally.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"4164\" data-end=\"4432\">To manage this complexity, a hybrid administration model was introduced.
