{"id":40735,"date":"2022-11-24T21:30:19","date_gmt":"2022-11-24T21:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.totara.fortyapp.com\/articles\/terminix-saves-30-hours-a-month-on-learning-administration-with-totara-learn\/"},"modified":"2024-08-29T06:50:25","modified_gmt":"2024-08-29T06:50:25","slug":"terminix-saves-30-hours-a-month-on-learning-administration-with-totara-learn","status":"publish","type":"article","link":"https:\/\/staging.totara.fortyapp.com\/us\/articles\/terminix-saves-30-hours-a-month-on-learning-administration-with-totara-learn\/","title":{"rendered":"Terminix saves 30 hours a month on learning administration with Totara Learn"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class='inline-text-container MobileAlignment DesktopAlignment'>\n  <div class='richText'><ul>\n<li class=\"Normal1\"><strong><em><span lang=\"EN\" xml:lang=\"EN\">Terminix has been in operation for over 90 years and is one of the largest pest and termite control companies in the world, with some of the world\u2019s top pest control specialists. <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal1\"><strong><em><span lang=\"EN\" xml:lang=\"EN\">Terminix deployed Terminix Academy on the Totara Learn platform to engage over 10,000 users with 1,000 e-learning courses and has saved over 360 hours a year. <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Normal1\"><span lang=\"EN\" xml:lang=\"EN\">With the help of the open source learning platform, Totara Learn and Totara Platinum partner Synegen, Terminix created the Terminix Academy to internally support over 10,000 Terminix professionals with just-in-time compliance, onboarding, sales, soft skills, leadership training amongst other internal Terminix resources, saving staff approximately 360 hours per year.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Home-page_1.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal1\"><span lang=\"EN\" xml:lang=\"EN\">Initially sourced to help reduce the turnover of sales staff, their previous learning management system lacked the flexibility to allow Terminix\u2019s L&amp;D team to implement the changes to their learning programme required to help engage with sales staff and reduce attrition rates. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal1\"><span lang=\"EN\" xml:lang=\"EN\">After realising that an open source LMS solution was a no brainer, Terminix\u00a0implemented Totara Learn rather than a proprietary LMS. For Terminix, Totara Learn offered the flexible, adaptable solution that enabled the Terminix L&amp;D team to make the necessary changes to their learning programme to meet their changing business needs. This meant mobile accessibility for field technicians, who are now able to access previously paper-based resources and training online through the Terminix Academy, as well as allowing them to segment learner audiences based on branches, teams and regions so that leaders and staff can find the relevant information they need to improve performance across the organisation. <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"Normal1\"><span lang=\"EN\" xml:lang=\"EN\">\u00a0<em>\u201cWe didn\u2019t want to pay for a lot of functionality we didn\u2019t need, so we wanted an open source solution to help us save on the cost of a traditional proprietary LMS, <\/em>\u201c said Ashley Pollock, Director of Training and Development, Terminix<em>. \u201cWe didn\u2019t need the Cadillac of learning platforms \u2013 we wanted something flexible and sustainable, because I had a feeling that Terminix would jump on board and want to craft this into the exact solution we needed\u2026 and I was right!\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"Normal1\"><span lang=\"EN\" xml:lang=\"EN\">The Terminix Academy has been an overwhelming success with endless potential;\u00a0the platform has been rolled across the organisation to over 10,000 active users within the organisation, and has helped save around 360 hours a year by moving their paper-based resources online to the Terminix Academy.
