The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) is a UK-based organisation whose main role is to operate the application process for British universities. They chose us at Accipio for the creation of their Totara online learning platform for their external advisors and providers.
The Challenge
UCAS was looking to provide online learning resources to more than 7000 organisations who support and guide students through each stage of their University application. The site needed to provide a variety of eLearning content and integrate seamlessly with their Salesforce Customer Relationship Management system (CRM), and provide a tenancy for internal users as well.
The Solutio
To meet this challenge we rapidly developed a Totara learning platform, which features the following:
- Two-way CRM integratio with their Salesforce, as well as pulling user information from Salesforce into the Totara platform, to deliver targeted enrolments based on user type
- Seamless and segmented access to resources, thanks to single-sign-o
- Over 100 courses with quality eLearning modules and video content. Many of these were initially built by Accipio, and included a ‘train the trainer’ approach so UCAS became self-sustainable
- Diagnostics, which allows for self-assessment and 360 feedback
- Extensions which highlights featured content and uses machine learning for recommendations, also allowing users to bookmark, like, rate and comment.
Results
The learning platform continues to grow rapidly and has been well received. Key results include:
- 7000+ organisations all synced with Salesforce and mapped to users created via SSO and Job Assignments
- Over 25,000 eLearning module attempts on 100+ courses
- Feedback from external and internal customers has been consistently at 98% for user experience and content
- Over 800 badges issued
- Increased security and segmentation enabling appropriate content to be surfaced to the relevant audiences
- Internal compliance training managed with a reduction in manual labour.
We are now working with UCAS to take the platform to the next level, with planned enhancements including eCommerce integration using the Accipio Shop, and further LxP and diagnostics features.
