We’re thrilled to announce the release of version 14 of Totara’s Talent Experience Platform!
This latest release brings a whole host of improvements to Totara Learn, Totara Engage and Totara Perform, as well as sitewide improvements applied to the full Talent Experience Platform.
So without further ado, let’s get stuck in!
Totara Talent Experience Platform
Across all products, there are three new changes to multitenancy, including the ability for tenant administrators to create audiences (within their tenant), a technical change that makes tenant-specific settings possible for custom themes, and the ability to set default images (such as resources and course images etc.) at the tenant level.
There are improvements to scheduled reports that mean if a report contains no data, then it will not be sent. This will prevent a blank attachment from being sent.
Totara Learn
We have some exciting changes for notifications that are kicking off in Totara Learn (specifically for programs and certifications) but will later be rolled out across the entire Totara platform. This new approach makes it possible to trigger notifications based on “notifiable events.” As part of our new approach to notifications (starting with program and certifications for Totara 14) we are introducing the ability to have multilingual content as well as email branding for your notifications.
If that wasn’t useful enough, there is a new option for the Force new attempt SCORM setting that allows you to Always force a new attempt. Another Totara Learn feature being improved is the seminars activity, which not only provides you with the ability to use the “Declare interest” setting with the seminar direct enrolment plugin in Totara 14, but also adds two new integrations for Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Totara Learn will also see improvements to the assignment and course membership status report sources, which each gain new columns. For the assignment report source this is a column with a direct link to the assignment submission to help with review/grading. Then for the course membership report there is a new current enrollment status column.
Totara Engage
If you are using Totara Engage (or thinking about it) then we’re sure you’ll be pleased to hear that we’ve improved the recommendations engine with enhanced text processing of content as well as the ability to consider user profile information (country, language, etc.).
Totara Perform
For those using Totara Perform, there are three major new content items you can add to your performance activities. These are:
- Review item: You can display, comment on and rate competencies within a performance activity
- Response redisplay: You can now redisplay questions and responses within a performance activity from either the current performance activity or another performance activity
- Response aggregation: Within a performance activity, you can now aggregate the responses for numeric scales
It’s not just performance activities that have seen improvements. Competencies have also been enhanced, including the ability to set the competency proficiency level based on the way you were assigned to the competency. This means you could set a different proficiency level for direct assignments to the level required to be considered proficient for a self-assignment.
There are also two new competency reports: competencies (based on the competencies export) and competency ratings which shows manual ratings for users on their assigned competencies.
Lastly, there are now more warnings and banners to alert a site administrator when an achievement path has an error, so you can see what went wrong and quickly fix the issue.
As you can see there is still a lot to be excited about in version 14 of the Totara Talent Experience Platform. You can read more details on all of these improvements and new features on the What’s new? page for our Help documentation.
Now I’m off to join my Totara colleagues in getting ready to bring you even more new features in Totara 15 later this year! Watch this space to find out what you can expect…
